Activists on both sides of a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage are gearing up for a fight — one that means sending postcards to legislators or meeting personally with them, according to reports in various news outlets. With the GOP in charge of the N.C. Statehouse for the first time in more than 100 years, it's more likely that such an amendment will end up on the 2012 ballot:

Full-fledged campaigns over the proposed constitutional ban are washing over the state. They include petitions, messages from pulpits, rallies, billboards and phone banks.
