LEAF announces its spring lineup

It may be a chilly February day outside, but Lake Eden Arts Festival is gearing up for its first festival of 2013 — scheduled for May 9-12. LEAF has just released it's Spring lineup (with a Sunday headliner TBA). The lineup announcement is also on the festival's Facebook page. You want to know that, so you can post and share the news. And you want to do that because one sharer will be selected at random to receive a free pair of tickets.

Here's who you'll be dancing/picnicking/hula-hooping/canoeing/zip-lining/face-painting/poetry-reading/yoga posing/hiking/costume-wearing and just-plain-old-listening to this May:

Headliners:
• Gospel singer Mavis Staples
• Hip-hop/salsa/dancehall/cumbia outfit Ozomatli
• Bluegrass act Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band
• Zimbabwean ensemble Oliver Mtukudzi & the Black Spirits
• World/indie-folk artist and LWAF alum Abigail Washburn




With:
Irish-American band Solas; New Orleans funk outfit Papa Grows Funk; hip-hop meets yoga fusion artist MC Yogi; singer-songwriter Lizz Wright (pictured above); indie-pop cellist Ben Sollee; bayou-Americana act Honey Island Swamp Band; Tibetan singer-songwriter Yungchen Lhamo; Cajun collaboration Dirk Powell Band with banjo player Riley Baugus; L/A.-based funk-band Orgone; King of kid-hop Secret Agent 23 Skidoo.

According to a press release, "tickets and volunteering opportunities are available through LEAF’s website [theLEAF.org] or by calling the LEAF office at 828-686-8742. Tickets are sold in advance only." Ticket prices (through April 30) are:
• $143 adults/$118 youth for Friday-Sunday with camping
• $174/$143 Weekend-plus (same as above but with Thursday night)
• $92/$81 community pass (no camping) for Friday, Saturday, Sunday
• $40/$35 Friday
• $51/$47 Saturday
• $40/$35 Sunday
