Master Class: Dance students of all skill levels are encouraged to attend a Master Class with a Flamenco Vivo dancer on Wednesday, February 20 at 5:30pm on the Diana Wortham Theatre stage. The class offers a supportive and fun atmosphere, and introduces a brief history of the origins of flamenco dance, music and song, including how the various cultures that inhabited Spain have influenced flamenco.Read the full article
This hands-on workshop includes instruction in rhythmic handclaps (palmas), arm movements (braceo), body posturing, and footwork (taconeo). Flamenco technique is woven into a short choreography, and by the end of the class the participants will be able to “perform” a simple choreographed dance.
