Times-News: Henderson County commissioners oppose affordable care act provision

Fed up with unfunded federal mandates, commissioners asked the county's congressional delegation Monday to find a way around an “Obamacare” requirement that they say amounts to double taxation for local residents.

By a 5-0 vote, the commissioners passed a resolution asking U.S. Rep. Mark Meadows and U.S. Sens. Kay Hagan and Richard Burr to push for a waiver relieving the county from paying $89,200 in federally mandated “reinsurance” fees that begin next year.
