Say NO to Progress Energy's dirty rate hike
Higher energy bill?
Progress Energy wants to charge you MORE to pay for more coal, oil and natural gas.
On Tuesday, March 5, the Utilities Commission will be in Asheville listening to you and other members of the public on Progress Energy's rate hikes.
Their plan to increase your rates as much as 11 percent will extend a lifeline to coal and gas in North Carolina - making us pay more for the pollution that makes us sick, pollutes our water and disrupts the climate.
The facts are on our side: Clean energy costs less in the long term and is better for our community.
We can't afford to pay more for dirty energy.
But the Utilities Commission won't get that message unless you, your friends and neighbors show up and tell them in person.
