UNC Asheville hosts N.C. poet laureate Joseph Bathanti

“An Evening with N.C. Poet Laureate Joseph Bathanti,” presented by UNC Asheville’s Creative Writing Program and the university’s Literature Club, takes place on the campus beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, March 25, in Karpen Hall’s Laurel Forum.

Bathanti, professor of creative writing at Appalachian State University, was named N.C. Poet Laureate in August. He is the author of six books of poetry including “This Metal,” which was nominated for the National Book Award; his novels and poems have won numerous awards.

“An Evening with Joseph Bathanti” is free and open to the public, made possible by a grant from the Mills Distinguished Lecturer Fund.
