Recently, two Diamond Brand company stores (Diamond Brand Outdoors and Frugal Backpacker) hosted separate fundraisers to help out Buncombe County Schools. From August 5-14, Frugal Backpacker collected donated school supplies, through a program in which the discount outdoor retailer provided customers with a $10 storewidecoupon for every $5 in school supplies that were donated.

Ramping up its back-to-school sale efforts, Diamond Brand Outdoors pledged to contribute 1% of all proceeds from its two-week Back to School Sale Fundraiser to Muddy Sneakers. Muddy Sneakers is a non-profit organization that enriches Western North Carolina area students'course of study with hands-on learning in forest areas and wilderness sites. This organization strives to help children gain a personal connection with the land and their peers ,as well as increases physical activity.

Together, both efforts combined to benefit students of Buncombe County Schools to the tune of over $2K in cash and school supplies.
