Where: The Grey Eagle, 185 Clingman Ave.
When: Saturday, May 8. Doors at 7 p.m. Concert at 8 p.m. $8.
Why: Concert season is upon us, but if you don't want to cram yourself in a crowd of hot, sweaty music-lovers, skip the people fests in favor of Dogapalooza. There will be plenty of music and beer, but (hopefully) no passed-out drunkards blocking the stage. Instead, local favorites The Archrivals, Rory Kelly's Triple Threat and Alarm Clock Conspiracy visit the Grey Eagle's intimate listening room for an evening of music and philanthropy.
The concert benefits Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, which reports saving the lives of 3,000 animals each year. This no-kill shelter offers a wide range of resources, including local adoptions, caring for animals with special medical needs and transporting dogs in need of homes to lucky families in the Northeast.
One look at Daisy May (pictured) is enough to convince anyone with a heart that BWAR's work in the community is worth supporting. Just try to say no to a smile like that.
