What is Krishna Consciousness?
Krishna Consciousness is the original Consciousness of every living entity ... not an artificial imposition on the mind. ... Bhakti-yoga is prescribed ... as the sublime method for reviving our Krishna Consciousness. [It] entails chanting of the holy names of God [and] abstaining from meat-eating, intoxication, illicit sex and gambling. Bhagavad-Gita: As It Is is the primary scripture describing the process of Bhakti-yoga or Krishna Consciousness.
How can one get involved?
Every Sunday, beginning at noon, there is an open house. This is an opportunity to hear and chant the glories of the Lord. Complimentary prasadam, or food offered to Lord Sri Krishna, is available at the open house. Krishna House is a fully functioning coed ashrama ... where participants are trained in the science of Bhakti-yoga. [We are] currently accepting new live-in male and female monks [and also] offer short-term retreats for aspiring seekers. The Krishna House’s reading room is open from 4:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m., seven days a week.
Krishna House is located at 17 Arborvale Road in Montford.
