How did you conceive of the idea for Ra Sekhi?
Ra Sekhi is the name that was given to me when my spirit guides directed me to start this practice. They wanted me to teach reiki to people of African decent ... because as everyone else is now working with energy, and healing and chakras, black people were basically left in the dark.
But it is important for us because we have been through a lot of trauma, and you can't heal trauma with Ritalin and all of the pills they're giving people for depression. We need energy work. I was told to take it out there and restore reiki to its original state — which can be seen in pictures on the walls of the pyramids.
What are the Temple's goals?
Our main mission is to promote health and wellness in our community. We heal ourselves first, then we work with ... families, because when we have stronger families, it will automatically make communities stronger.
I am blessed and honored to say that I have seen some beautiful changes in people who have come from really bad places; recognizing the god or goddess in themselves, and not just seeing it, but taking it and manifesting it. It's moving people, and the light is getting brighter.
