RALEIGH, N.C. – Sheryl Aikman, vice president of development for the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina based in Asheville, will be a presenter at the 2013 Statewide Conference for North Carolina’s Nonprofit Sector being presented by the N.C. Center for Nonprofits.
The conference will be September 19-20 at the Embassy Suites Hotel -Concord Convention Center in Concord, N.C. This training is open to staff and board leaders in all nonprofits, as well as foundation and corporate community affairs representatives and others who work with nonprofits. Aikman will co-present a session on engaging individual donors for long-term relationships. Other sessions will focus on executive succession, using board committees for effective governance, and creating a more financially-stable operation.
Aikman has been on staff at the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina since 1998 and has served in two major national leadership roles in the community foundation field. She is currently a board officer of the Land of Sky Estate Planning Council, N.C. Planned Giving Council, and Western North Carolina Public Radio.
