Tags:EMErgence: Electronic Music Experience is a joint effort by LEAF and the Bob Moog Foundation. It takes place on October 22-24 and includes hands-on activities, workshops and lectures from local, professional electronic musicians and producers.
According to a press release, "On Wednesday, October 23rd, the Bob Moog Foundation will present four one-hour Synthesis Fundamentals sessions taught by synthesizer guru Marc Doty. During the sessions students will also take part in Dr. Bob’s Interactive Sonic Experience, a hands-on instrument setup meant to encourage exploration of the science of sound. The sessions will take place at the Bob Moog Electronic Studio at UNCA and are open to all workshop participants."
Also, "The John Lennon Bus will be joining EMErgence on Thursday October 24th, providing an eight hour recording session for select participants. They will plan, write, and record a complete song within this eight hour period. Additionally, four to six lucky students interested in music production and journalism will be chosen to shadow the John Lennon Bus staff throughout the following weekend at The 2013 Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit."
The EMErgence Music Showcase closes out the two-day experience. It will be held at the Mill Room on Thursday, October 24. King Britt, along with local workshop leaders and young emerging artists, will led the event which celebrating the work completed during the workshops.Read the full article
