The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus returns to Asheville Oct. 24-27

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, a non-profit, state-of-the-art recording and video studio, makes its way back to Asheville this week. The bus that travels to schools, festivals and conferences around the U.S. According to the website, “In its sixteenth year, with the very newest technology and gear, the Bus continues to be dedicated to providing young people with tours of the studios and participation in free songwriting and multimedia production workshops. With the assistance of three on-board engineers, students learn how to write, perform, record, and produce original songs, produce and shoot music videos and documentaries and complete a broadcast quality music video – all in one day!” The Lennon Bus has also tapped artists like The Flaming Lips, Black Eye Peas and Natasha Bedingfield to record with students.

The Lennon Bus visits Asheville during the Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit this week.

Schedule:
• Thursday, 10/24 – Recording session with local UNC-A students on-board (create track and video with engineer’s on board)
• Friday, 10/25 – Sunday, 10/27 – Public tours, artist sessions on board and students on board shadowing the engineer’s to learn more about working in the studio.
