From the press release:
Tired of Bureaucracies, Libby Lagadi, a brain-child visionary developed the concept of a grass-roots network for “People Just Like Us” as people are struggling to survive in a collapsing economy with its citizens suffering similarly to third world countries.
Her strategy and request is simply to give one dollar-more if you can. The website features categories such as family & medical needs. A person can click on a person to sponsor and the funds are given 100% directly to the persons need via Paypal. A transaction from request to receipt can be transacted within minutes.
To describe her efforts, Libby Lagadi gives an example:
“A destitute unemployed family man finally gets a job. He must have steel-toe boots to enter the jobs site based on OSHA Laws. He starts tomorrow. What are the chances –if given a voucher from a Corporate Charity—he will find number one, steel toe boots and secondly in his size. There are real needs such as that: efficient and effective period. Funds could come in through the website and a gift certificate code via email could be sent such as for example $100 Sears Card to ‘just go get the darn boots’. It is that simple!“
She goes on to say this is a grassroots bottom up approach to networking solutions simply for “People Just Like Us”. When asked who are “People Just Like Us, her response was –“People, Just People, People Just Like Us”.
Her passion for helping people is expressed in her response to the question how can this huge goal truly be accomplished. She says simply
“Let’s just get it done and move on and quit playing –patty cake at corporate meetings to talk yadda-yadda yadda about helping people. I say skip the middle man and let “People Just Like Us” network with “People Just Like Us”.”
Her cynicism, she says comes from her own personal experience coupled with her observations of so many people experiencing unnecessary gridlock with needs that often are immediate.
With the goal of $100,000 Libby Lagadi discloses the current amount of funds that have been donated at this time is $5 as she vows to be publicly accountable and transparent.
