There are a couple benefits and community dinners taking place on Thanksgiving Day:
— Fig Bistro: Thanksgiving Day Benefit, Nov. 28 11 a.m.- 5 p.m.. Diners will be encouraged to donate to the FIG Fund with 100 percent of the proceeds to benefit Homeward Bound's Room in the Inn program, a community-driven initiative that partners with local faith communities to provide shelter for homeless women as they work towards securing permanent housing. — Blue Mountain Pizza: Community Thanksgiving dinner, noon-3 p.m.. The whole Weaverville Community participates, even cooking the turkeys at home because they do not fit into the pizza ovens. Volunteers serve the buffet style meal, no reservations needed, free.
