Announcement from the National Weather Service:
Low pressure developing along the northern gulf of mexico will move northeast across the central Carolinas tonight. the deepening low will pull moisture from both the Atlantic and gulf...resulting in heavy rain across much of the region. Upslope flow into the mountains will increase rainfall amounts over and near the high terrain. In these areas 3 to 5 inches of rain is expected with a few areas possibly seeing more. the main flood threat will be along main stem rivers. However...rainfall rates may become heavy enough later today to cause some streams to leave their banks. In addition, urban areas could experience deep ponding of water as storm drains and culverts may be limited by thick leaf litter.
