Asheville, NC—WNC Magazine (“WNC”) is pleased to announce that Melissa Reardon has been named its new Editor-In-Chief effective immediately. Reardon replaces Rita Larkin, who will continue to work on various projects with WNC.
Jed Drew, the President of GulfStream Communications and Publisher of WNC magazine, comments, “We are very excited about Melissa’s new and expanded role. When Rita approached me about pursuing new opportunities beyond the magazine, Melissa was the obvious candidate to assume the Editor-In-Chief position. We have no doubt Melissa will continue the dedication and excellent work that Rita has brought to WNC magazine for the past seven years. We look forward to collaborating with Rita in the future as she transitions to a Contributing Editor role.”
Reardon earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and assumed the role of Associate Editor of WNC magazine in 2007. She has since worked as the Managing Editor as well as a Contributing Editor and writer for the publication, and has played a role in the production of GulfStream Communications events, including acting as the Marketing Coordinator for the 2013 Asheville Wine & Food Festival.
