The Asheville band of the same name may not inspire such earth-shattering moves, but it does put on a high-energy, spiritually inclined, world music performance that inspires concertgoers to dance into the evening. The ecstatic dance quintet, which features all manners of percussion, electric sitar, hammered dulcimer and flute, among other instruments, will take the stage at Isis on Saturday, March 8.
From the band’s bio: “Combining dynamic drumming with soaring otherworldly melodies, Nataraj's music weaves flowing improvisation together with the dancer's energy to create an interactive and high energy atmosphere.”
The band will play two sets with special guest performances.
Saturday, March 8 at Isis Restaurant & Music Hall. Standing show with some balcony seating. $10/$15. isisasheville.com.
