Want to volunteer but can't decide which opportunity is the best fit?
Come to one or more of these orientations to learn more. Orientations are on the following Tuesdays, from 5:30-7 p.m. Come at 5:30 for social time and snacks. The program starts at 6. Please note that each orientation is limited to 15 people.
• March 4: Water Quality Monitoring: Assistant French Broad Riverkeeper Kirby Callaway will acquaint prospective volunteers with WNCA's water sampling program. Learn how sampling by volunteers has uncovered some direct polluters of the French Broad River and how you can help, too.
• March 11: Representing WNCA at Public Events: Do your friends and family hint that you talk too much? Well, we need you! We need volunteers not afraid to talk to strangers who may have questions about who we are and what we do. "Tabling," as it's called, is a great way to meet people and we have tables at lots of great area festivals and events.
• March 25: Becoming a Citizen Activist: Ever wish you could be more effective in the causes you support? Come learn from seasoned activists how to amplify your voice.
For more information on these and other volunteer opportunities, email WNCA Volunteer Coordinator Cynthia Camilleri at Cynthia@WNCA.org or call (828) 258-8737, ext. 207.
