The 2nd Annual Bele Chere Urban Challenge presented by Food Lion: See feature story. In this Survivor-style event, 12 contestants will camp on the Urban Challenge Island (at City/County Plaza) and compete for prizes. Team and individual challenges will test physical strength, mental quickness and creative thinking. At the end of the festival, one contestant will walk away with the ultimate title and prize.

The Skyriders! Acrobatic Trampoline Entertainment: Olympic-class acrobats perform sky-high somersaults and gymnastic feats on skis, wakeboards, hula-hoops and more. The Skyriders will perform at various times on Saturday and Sunday. Patton Avenue at Coxe Avenue.

Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom Adventure Tour: See feature story. Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom Adventure Tour puts you in the lion's mouth -- literally. This high-tech, you-are-there "outdoor" experience highlights the excitement of the Wild Kingdom. Free. Health Department parking lot.

Burt's Bees Mobile Tour: See feature story. The "Bee-utify Your World" natural-beauty display is a honeycombed hive offering free hand massages and free samples -- try one of Burt's Bees' 100 products. Arts Park in the Asheville Savings Bank parking lot.

Faces of Bele Chere, Interactive Caricature by Brian Vasilik: Local artist captures festival-goers caricature-style on a large mural. Personal caricatures available for a fee. Pack Square at the Vance Monument.

Arts Park: Featuring the Premier Artists of Bele Chere: See feature story. These juried artists span many mediums to include jewelry, photography, pottery, wood-working and painting. Friday 12-9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday 12-6 p.m., Drhumor Parking Lot and Patton Avenue.
