Asheville, your collective belly has spoken. When it comes to some of your favorite foodstuffs, you can be almost stubbornly loyal. This year, we have quite a few Hall of Famers, like your perennial favorite veggie spot, The Laughing Seed. There are some mainstays also that seem poised to reach locally lofty epicurean status, such as the indisputably good Marco's Pizzeria.

There are some newbies, however -- many of you like to get your wing on at Wild Wings, and your budget-taco fix at burrito palace Mamacita's. Limones made an appearance in the upscale dining department, and the Lobster Trap edged out corporate giant Red Lobster to snap up the best-seafood award.

Speaking of big businesses that the anti-corporate contingent loves to dis, Starbucks scored for the first time in the coffee wars this year (independent cafe lovers, take note). However, the majority of the awards go to local businesses -- though few can argue with kid-heaven Chuck E. Cheese for the best place to take the rug rats, chain or no, and I can't say I'm shocked that some of you "run for the border" when you have the late-night munchies.

So keep on eating, Asheville -- when it comes to dining options, we've got plenty to go around. And remember, keeping it local is as good for you as it is for our fair mountain town. Bon appetite!
