In a rare (but super-smart) move, indie-pop outfit stephaniesid toured less this year. Looks like it's paying off: "I'm a go-go-go kind of person, so I never quite realized the importance of a true break," says frontwoman Stephanie Morgan. "I think the boys might have preferred to keep touring, but it gave [keyboardist/vocalist] Chuck [Lichtenberger] a chance to really develop The Archrivals, and now we're moving toward a touring plan that gives me some down time, while keeping Chuck and Tim and the boys playing. This summer, I was able to write and record new songs in my little basement studio. I have a revived love for the single!"
Look for new releases this fall, along with a slew of shows all along the East Coast, including a special pre-Thanksgiving performance at The Grey Eagle on Nov. 20.
Here's a question: Will the Lichtenberger-led/stephaniesid alter-ego band The Archrivals, known for musically dueling with other local acts, ever battle stephaniesid? "It's possible," says Morgan. "The Archrivals is a boy band. They have a greater need for victory. They'll probably win."
