i’m not sure if this speaks to an awesome spontaneity and potential within twitter, or if it just means Amanda Palmer has a bunch of technological geeks as fans.
As for the “new journalism model”:
1) no one knows what the model is, we’re experimenting,
2) most media outlets are struggling and unsure of where the income will come from in the future (and the online component is miniscule),
3) the “copy and paste” you refer to can also be viewed as dialogue,
4) whatever the new journalism models turn out to be, I believe they will include important roles for hard-working professional journalists, although those roles will have changed from traditional reporters/editors, and
5) while this particular post doesn’t show “reporting” by Xpress staff, there is plenty of that in evidence in our work in general.
