Residents question Shuler’s vote against health care reform

WNC residents continue to question U.S. Rep. Heath Shuler’s recent vote against health-care reform: From the Asheville Citizen-Times: When Shuler “spoke to students at Western Carolina University last week, a group of Macon County residents lined the back of the theater holding signs that read, ‘Yes to public option’ and ‘Whose side are you on, Heath Shuler?’ … In a series of appearances last week — including one at Carolina Day School in Asheville and another at the university — the congressman heard from Western North Carolina residents.” See also The (Waynesville) Mountaineer’s interview with Shuler (http://www.themountaineer.com/).

The Republicans already have a candidate lined up to take on Shuler. It is not too late for the Democratic Party to find a primary challenger to run against him. I’m guessing a lot of people voted for Shuler because he was not Charles Taylor. Now, with the TVA/Blackberry scandal, it turns out Shuler is Taylor, after all. Not to mention Shuler’s principled stand in favor of Big Pharma in the health care reform debate…
