In less than one week, Harris Teeter shoppers have answered the company’s call to action to support the American Red Cross’ relief efforts in Haiti and donated $509,192 during the company’s Haiti Earthquake Relief Donation Card Campaign.
All 194 Harris Teeter stores are selling $1 and $5 donation cards to benefit the American Red Cross International Relief Fund. The campaign will run through the 31st of January; there is no limit to the number of cards a customer can purchase. When customers are purchasing groceries, they can simply pick-up either the $1 or $5 card and tell their cashier they would like to make a donation. The card will be scanned and added to the grocery total.
Including the $25,000 donation the company made to the Red Cross at the beginning of the campaign, the total raised has reached $534,192 and will continue to grow throughout the week.
