Learn “cob construction” technique at AB Tech course

From AB Tech: A-B Tech’s Global Institute for Sustainability Technologies will present a Natural Building 101 - Complete Cob course from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, April 17 to May 22 in Dogwood 156 on the College’s Asheville campus.

Learn the basic mixing technique for cob to use the building material in a myriad of applications. Cob is a mixture of sand, soil, a straw, and water. Sculpt a bench, build a wall, construct an oven, create an entryway to a garden path or build a shed or house. Topics covered include the basics of cob mixing, site design, materials and application techniques including sculpture and finishing plaster.
