New hospital CEO welcomed
From the Hendersonville Times-News:
The new president and CEO of St. Luke's Hospital's said he wants to get some new physicians at the hospital and wants to spend some time listening to the staff and community on issues to solve any problems at the hospital.
Kenneth Shull, 61, started in his new position as president and CEO of the hospital on Nov. 30, but the hospital welcomed him with a reception Sunday.
Community members passed in and out of the hospital Sunday from 1:30 until 3 p.m. introducing themselves to Shull and his wife, Heidi.
"I am excited about this new position," he said. "It's a great transition. I am hearing how important this hospital is for the community."
Shull said that his first job is ensuring that St Luke's has solid finances.
"I want to make sure I listen to the issues and visit with as many people as possible," he said.
Shull stepped into the leadership position in late November after a nationwide search by the board of trustees to replace Cameron H. Highsmith, who, after 15 years with St. Luke's, accepted a position with Bladen County Health System.
