Not many manufacturers these days want to commit to occupying a 900,000-square-foot building like the former Steelcase building that is now Fletcher Business Park.

But as manufacturing makes a slow recovery, several companies are looking for smaller spaces for production, to store extra inventory or to set up a distribution center.

That's part of the story of how the business park, located on Mills Gap Road on Fletcher's east side, filled up all that formerly empty space over about a 3 1/2-year period, says co-owner Rusty Pulliam. ...
