Here's the press release from Penelope Wyer Barrow:
(Asheville, NC, December 20, 2011) - Penelope Wyer Barrow, a nationally recognized Pilates instructor, announced today the opening of Pure Pilates Studio, a classical Pilates certification and continuing education center, and a TRX Suspension Training facility, set to open in January, 2012. The studio is located at 59 Charlotte Street in downtown Asheville.
Pure is a classical Pilates studio dedicated to the perpetuation of the authentic Joseph Pilates method. The studio utilizes only Gratz equipment, the original manufacturer of Pilates equipment. All Pure instructors undergo a 700-hour teacher certification program in the authentic method and uphold Joseph Pilates's belief that "physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness." The studio will offer a unique program of group, small group and private settings.
"I'm very excited to open Pure and look forward to continuing the work of Joseph Pilates and creating a community for people of all ages to train and develop a higher level of fitness and health," said Barrow.
Penelope Wyer Barrow has over 28 years of teaching experience and 14 years of teacher training experience in the development of the first certified national training center in the Southeast. Her strength as a teacher trainer lies in her ability to closely mentor each student, offering a hands-on approach to the entire certification process.
Barrow's work has been featured in The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Atlanta magazine, Jezebel, Fox News (both local and national) and CNN's Healthwatch, and has been quoted in Time Magazine, among others. She specializes in core training for athletes and has instructed members of the NBA, NFL, the Olympic Rhythmic team, the Olympic Basketball team, the WWF and the Atlanta Ballet, as well as competitive runners, triathletes, golfers, cyclists and divers.
