Asheville, July 7, 2011—Saul Chase filed for election to the Asheville City Council on Thursday, July 7. Chase says he will concentrate on improving Asheville's streets and sidewalks to make
Asheville safer for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists and more prosperous for local businesses. Chase, 59, is a retired North Carolina public school teacher and administrator. He founded NC Test Prep, which specializes in SAT preparation. He lives near downtown Asheville with his wife, writer Nan Chase. They have been homeowners in Asheville since 2003
Saul Chase served for eight years on the Boone, N.C., Town Council during the 1980’s and 1990’s, His leadership produced sidewalk and greenway improvements, traffic management initiatives, recycling expansion, and water and sewer upgrades.
“My wife and I love living in Asheville. We built our home here and have grandchildren here,” Chase said. “But the condition of our public infrastructure is unacceptable.
