BREVARD, N.C. (AP) — Three Boy Scouts who got separated from the rest of their troop during a hike in the Pisgah National Forest did what scouts are told to do. They pitched a tent, slept the night, then looked for rescuers Sunday morning, authorities said.
A helicopter spotted the boys waving as the pilot made his first pass through the mountains north of Brevard around 10 a.m. Sunday, Transylvania County Rescue Service Deputy Chief David Orr said.
