Women on Target hosting shooting clinic in Brevard, Saturday, April 9
PRESS RELEASE:
The Asheville Practical Shooting Association is holding a Women On Target® Instructional Shooting Clinic at the Bear Arms Indoor Range in Brevard, North Carolina on April 9. Women On Target® program helps create opportunities for women by encouraging, educating, and mentoring women new to recreational shooting and hunting sports. Registration is $25.00. Participants should register as soon as possible. For more information or to register, contact Nancy Flack at 828-252-9487 or pfcustomguns@bellsouth.

Women On Target® Instructional Shooting Clinics invite women to learn to shoot, or improve their skills, in a fun atmosphere with like-minded females. Clinic topics address instruction on the safest way to handle a firearm, proper storage of firearms, and how to shoot. Clinics typically feature coaching for novices, loaner guns, plenty of safety instruction and positive reinforcement.

Women On Target® was developed by the National Rifle Association in 1999. In June 2010, the program reached its 50,000th participant. More than 200 clinics are held each year throughout the United States. Women On Target® Instructional Shooting Clinics create an atmosphere for encouraging, educating, and mentoring women new to recreational shooting and hunting sports. It is appropriate for teenagers and up.

Keith Griffin says, “This is an excellent opportunity for women to experience the safe handling of firearms in the company of other women in a friendly atmosphere.”

A list of additional Women On Target® hunts and shooting clinics is maintained on the program website at http://www.nrahq.org/women/wot.asp.
