On October 5, 2012 at 3:38 pm Asheville PD Officers responded to a report of a man shot and lying in the road in front of 352 London Rd. While Officers were on the way to the scene, the victim was driven by his wife to meet an ambulance nearby. Officers and Detectives interviewed the victim, witnesses and the suspect. Evidence and the weapon were taken from the scene of the shooting.

Detectives charged the suspect, Clarence Buckner with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury for shooting the victim, Vishal Patel in the leg.
