Mr. Peck,

Rep. Moffitt hadn’t replied at all to any City entreaties, so there was no way for us to know he had a Raleigh meeting. This is our second or third attempt at arranging a meeting, and we didn’t hear from Rep. Moffitt.

I’m gratified to learn that he has a meeting in Raleigh. It would have been more efficient to simply communicate directly to us, but this method has its own charm.

Asheville will continue to do its best to address the requests of the “study committee” and to work in good faith to ensure that all of the facts are on the table regarding a possible merger of the systems. It would have been helpful to have a little more input, but hearing from you here will have to be enough, I reckon.

Why is the water system referendum omitted from the agenda and staff report for the legislative meeting for 9/18?
