Asheville resident Lauren Tomayo earns Olympic cycling silver
As a member of the USA women's cycling team, Asheville resident Lauren Tomayo earned a silver medal in the Olympics. The Asheville Citizen-Times covered the news today, Aug. 4, reporting these comments from Tomayo:
“Every girl always says they want to go to the Olympics and win a medal,” Tamayo said about 45 minutes after her first and last Olympic experience.
“But to actually do it is a totally different feeling. It’s amazing. I don’t think I could top this.”
