In a press release, Merge Records announced that Asheville-based garage rock outfit Reigning Sound (fronted by Greg Cartwright) has signed to the Durham, N.C. label. William Tyler, aka Lambchop, was also added. Merge writes, "We look forward to releasing albums by both artists in 2013."
The label plans to celebrate the new additions with a Merge Records Showcase on Thursday, Oct. 18 at Mercury Lounge in New York. The lineup includes William Tyler,
Mac McCaughan, Eleanor Friedberger, Telekinesis and Reigning Sound.
