Momma Martha’s, an independent baby and children’s boutique located in the Biltmore Square Mall, is opening a second location at 1340B Patton Avenue in West Asheville. The Grand Opening is set for February 4, 2012 from 10 AM – 3 PM. They will be sharing space with Assurance Imaging, which offers diagnostic ultrasound and A Precious Peek 3D/4D prenatal imaging; prenatal massage will also be offered by Trinity Massage and Skin Care.

The women-owned businesses will combine their expertise to provide a fun and relaxing atmosphere for women to bond with their unborn babies by seeing their expressions and watching them move, get a massage, and browse a select collection of items for newborn babies and children made by renowned local artists and nationally recognized companies which are expanding into the Asheville market.

Momma Martha’s primary location is at the edge of the food court in the Biltmore Square Mall, which is becoming popular again with locals thanks to the relocation of the Health Adventure and recent opening of new independent stores. Momma Martha’s currently carries an inventory featuring 20 local artists along with national brands ranging from exciting up and coming to those that have been around for over 100 years!

The store is operated by Martha Young, a local businesswoman who has been featured in WNC Parent, the WLOS segment Craft Corner, as a feature business at Capital Bank, and sponsors the nursing room at the Health Adventure. “While I’ve been recruited by malls in other big cities to open additional locations, this seemed like a better opportunity to be located inside such a cutting edge clinic in Asheville,” said Martha Young.
