Buncombe GOP urges “no” vote on water referendum
Full announcement from the Buncombe County Republican Party on the city water referendum:

Asheville, NC-With early voting upon us and a referendum about the regional water system on the ballot for Asheville city voters, the Buncombe County Republican Party releases the following statement:

"In the wake of Asheville City Council's move to privatize the Asheville Municipal Golf Course, we do not see it as wise for them to also attempt to privatize an asset they do not own and which roughly half of its customers reside outside city limits. We urge all city voters to vote "no" on this referendum."

The official language of the referendum reads: "Shall the City of Asheville undertake the sale or lease of its water treatment system and water distribution system?"

Voters interested in "Defend Our Water" yard signs can find them at: Clean Water of North Carolina, 29 1/2 Page Ave, Asheville, NC 28801 or by calling (828) 251-1291.
