Campaign trail: Fraternal Order of Police endorses Dalton for governor
The North Carolina Fraternal Order of Police announced today their endorsement of Walter Dalton for Governor. The organization, comprised of over 6,300 active and retired police and law enforcement officers from around the state, cited Dalton’s commitment to law enforcement issues throughout his career.
FOP President Randy Hagler said, “Lt. Governor Dalton is a proven leader with a clear record of support for the men and women of law enforcement. I am proud to give Lt. Governor Dalton our endorsement and I look forward to working with him and his administration over the next four years on the issues most important to our membership.”
“I am honored to have the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police. These men and women put their lives on the line every day to keep us all safe. They deserve our support as they fight to make North Carolina a safer place to live, work, and raise a family. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with law enforcement, particularly on combating methamphetamine and sexual predators online. As Governor, I will continue to work hard to support and protect the law enforcement officers of our state,” Dalton said.
With their endorsement, the FOP joins the statewide Police Benevolent Association in endorsing Dalton’s candidacy. Dalton also has the endorsement of more Sheriffs across North Carolina (41) than Pat McCrory. These endorsements prove that when it comes to law enforcement issues, Walter Dalton is the only candidate with the knowledge and record to support our law enforcement officers and keep North Carolina safe.
