Have you ever heard a doctor say, “If this medication isn’t working for your problem, you’ll just have to live with it”? Perhaps you thought, “There must be a better way.” Maybe you’ve been seeking to take charge of your health but weren’t sure where to begin.
“I’ve seen people overcome years of suffering from stress-related migraine headaches, panic attacks, or teeth-grinding when they learn basic skills of self-regulation,” says Cathy Holt, teacher and practitioner at the Center for Holistic Medicine. “The ideal conditions for learning new skills are a small, supportive group; an experienced and encouraging teacher; and daily practice of simple methods that give immediate positive results.”
A Toolkit for Self-Healing is a four-week class starting Tuesday, September 4 that provides several powerful healing practices: belly breathing and deep muscle relaxation for stress reduction; challenging and transforming limiting beliefs and language; guided imagery to tap innate wisdom and messages behind symptoms; and Emotional Freedom Technique.
Cathy Holt, MPH, has taught holistic health, stress management, and communication skills for over 15 years. At the Center for Holistic Medicine, she offers guided imagery, biofeedback, and Reiki. She has co-authored a workbook for self-healing, and wrote The Circle of Healing: Deepening Our Connections with Self, Others, and Nature. Participants will receive a free copy of this book with the class. Pre-registration is required.
