You know, this reads just like a marketing piece courtesy of Charter. It’s funny; I discontinued satellite service a year ago (after 10 years as a customer) due to increasing costs and increasing percentage of viewing time allocated to irritating commercial interruptions. I now stream HD directly to my HD monitor (in surround sound, no less). It’s comical that one of the biggest advertisers found on Hulu and other content providers is Charter Cable, who evidently are clueless to the fact that people are bailing out of cable and satellite in droves. As if a ‘free’ DVR can stem the tide. |

Oh, wait…it IS a marketing piece from Charter…note the first-person language (“I’m confident out customers will be excited…”). Shouldn’t this be identified as an advertisement instead of appearing as a news item? |

I canceled my Directtv service for the same reasons. |

It currently says “PRESS RELEASE” at the top - not sure if it did originally. But yeah, this is uncomfortably close to free advertising, and nothing more… |

“It currently says “PRESS RELEASE” at the top…” I didn’t see that when it first appeared. |

In small business news, I will be entering my 30,000th title later in the summer. Take that cable! |

“Take that cable!” Just to clarify, you mean “Take that, cable!”, right? |
