RALEIGH – Veteran Broughton Hospital leaders Vivian Streater and Dr. George Krebs have been appointed to serve as co-acting directors for Broughton Hospital while a search is underway for a new chief executive officer. Broughton CEO Tom Mahle is returning to his home state of Florida to pursue new career opportunities.
Vivian Streater, RNC, BSN, MSM/HSM, ABD, has been employed at Broughton Hospital since 1996 and is currently the chief nursing officer. George Krebs, MD, is the chief medical officer at Broughton Hospital. He joined the staff in May 1993 as a staff psychiatrist on the Adult Admissions Division.
“We are grateful to Tom Mahle for his leadership at Broughton Hospital over the past four years,” said Luckey Welsh, interim director of North Carolina DHHS State Operated Healthcare Facilities. “Through his efforts, significant improvements have been made to business practices and processes as well as improvements in patient care and treatment. And we are fortunate to have experienced leaders in Ms. Streater and Dr. Krebs to step up while we conduct the search for a new director.”
