ECO orientation for new volunteers to be held Thursday

The Environmental and Conservation Organization (ECO) will offer a short film and discussion for people interested in working with ECO as volunteers to carry out their mission of protecting Henderson County’s natural heritage. The orientation session will be held at Black Bear Coffee Shop in downtown Hendersonville on March 29 starting at 5:30 p.m. The orientation will include an ECO-produced film that highlights ECO’s mission and history which will be followed by a discussion on ECO’s work to protect water quality, promote green energy alternatives and sustainability, educate on recycling and promote green infrastructure. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet current committee members and sign up to volunteer with a group that fits their interests. Black Bear Coffee Shop, located at 318 N. Main St. in downtown Hendersonville, will offer their full menu for the event.

ECO is an environmental nonprofit whose mission is to preserve the natural heritage of Henderson County and the mountain region as an effective voice for the environment. ECO is located at 121 Third Avenue West in downtown Hendersonville.
