Full announcement from Edna's of Asheville:
[ASHEVILLE, NC] The Friends of the WNC Nature Center received a generous donation from Edna’s of Asheville (Formerly Mountain Java) of $2,600 from revenue generated at the coffeehouse Grand Opening on Saturday May 19, 2012.
“The guys at Edna’s of Asheville are committed to animal organizations in this area”, said Friends of the Nature Center board member Jami Daniels. “We survive on the generosity of the community, and this was an especially generous donation.”
The day-long event featured animal ambassadors from the Nature Center as well as puppies from Brother Wolf Animal Shelter. The evening gala kicked off with the grand entrance of the establishment’s namesake Edna the Pug as she strutted down the pink carpet outfitted especially for the evening. Plenty of food and wine was enjoyed and Kat Williams entertained the crowd.
“We visited the WNC Nature Center before we moved to Asheville and were so impressed with the facility and care given to the animals...it's an honor to be able to give back to this wonderful sanctuary", said Edna’s co-owner Tom Cash.
All of the day’s proceeds benefitted the Friends of the WNC Nature Center and the organizations mission to support the Center and its 2020 Vision for the future. On May 25th owners Mike and Tom presented the Friends of the Nature Center with the donation at the Nature Center barn.
