Gillespie realizing a seven-term goal of reducing environmental regulations
Marion's Rep. Mitch Gillespie, GOP point man for environmental legislation, brings a personal mission of deregulation to his legislative duties. That has included easing restrictions on paper mills and power plants, and placing his own bull's eye on the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Shouldn’t that read “GOP point man for environmental destruction” and their continuing effort to extinguish all life on Earth that threatens profit-making?

Is the ‘human environment’ somehow separate from the rest of the normally functioning ecosystem it inhabits?

“Is the ‘human environment’ somehow separate from the rest of the normally functioning ecosystem it inhabits?”

In the whacky world this guy inhabits, it is.  See, the ‘human environment’ is characterized by complete and utter focus on material acquisition and the pursuit of “concrete self-interest (read: greed and avarice).  In fact, in this alternate reality, it is so paramount in importance that there are no rules.  Since (according to him) the Constitution includes the right to “property”, all other considerations are unimportant.  Who cares if a few more species go extinct and the air and water continue to be degraded…someone somewhere is making a profit!

To the environmentalist, it is. They consider man separate from nature. Separate, subordinate and expendable.
