Sylva, N.C. – The MedWest-Harris & Swain Foundation is proud to announce the upcoming 14th Annual Smoky Streak, to be held Saturday, October 6 at Webster Baptist Church.

This yearly event, which includes a walk, 5K, and 10K, is supported by local businesses and individuals and is held to raise funds for early breast cancer detection. The funds raised also provide mammograms for underserved women in our community, and last year’s contributions helped provide early detection and follow-up procedures for over 90 local women.

There are four levels of sponsorship for the event, from the $125 Ribbon Level Sponsor to the $1,000 Hot Pink Sponsor. Each sponsorship level includes different benefits for the sponsor, including having business names printed on event t-shirts, and free entries into the event. Runners and walkers may register online prior to the event for a $25 fee. Registration on the day of the event costs $30, and closes along with parking at 8:30am. All races begin and end at Webster Baptist Church; the walk and 5K begin at 9:00am, and the 10K begins at 9:30am.
