Clyde, N.C. – Midway Medical Center is pleased to announce that family physician and Clyde native Rhianna Kirkpatrick Ritter, MD is joining Midway Medical Center in Clyde on Sept. 4.
Ritter joins Brian B. Caffrey, MD, Nancy R. Freeman, MD, Richard H. Harsch, MD, Frank Moskos, MD and Carolyn H. Ramsey, DO in Midway Medical Center’s office in Clyde. Midway Medical Center also has an office in Canton where Mark E. Kinter, MD, Marjorie S. Levreau, MD, Barbara Dubiel, MD and Adrienne Stanley, MD are based.
A native of Clyde who attended Tuscola High School and was cared for at Midway Medical Center herself, Ritter said she feels grateful to be returning to the area.
Ritter attained her B.S. in biology with a minor in chemistry followed by her medical degree at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She then went on to complete her Family Medicine residency at UNC Chapel Hill, one of the nation's top ranked Family Medicine residency programs Earning numerous awards and achievements throughout medical school and residency, Ritter said she is most honored to have served as Chief Resident.
“I am very excited to be back home in the mountains,” Ritter said. “I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to return to Midway Medical Center, the practice in which I grew up.”
She and her husband, Hilton, reside in Waynesville and feel blessed to be surrounded by family and friends. After many years in Chapel Hill, they share a love of Carolina basketball. Ritter also enjoys swimming and kayaking.
Ritter is passionate about caring for families, and her special interests include pediatrics and women’s health. Services offered include newborn hospital care, pediatric check-ups, immunizations, school / sports physicals, women’s health visits and contraception management. Her practice also includes minor emergencies, dermatology, adult hospital care, chronic disease management and disease prevention.
