Hendersonville, N.C. (October 23, 2012) – Park Ridge Health will host a blood drive on Friday, November 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on mobile units near the Emergency Department entrance. All employees and community members in good health are invited to give as long as they are at least 17, weigh at least 110 pounds and haven’t donated blood for 56 days. Everyone who gives will receive a free t-shirt and two movie tickets!

Blood Donation Facts: Someone needs a blood transfusion every three seconds, and one in 10 patients entering a hospital will require donated blood, according to The Blood Connection. Close to 350 people need to donate blood every day to meet the daily needs of area hospitals and be prepared for emergencies.
