Southeastern Sports Medicine presents free symposium for student athletes
From the press release from Park Ridge Health:
Hendersonville, N.C. – The community is invited to a free event hosted by Park Ridge Health and Southeastern Sports Medicine on Tuesday, August 21, at 6:30 p.m. At “Symposium for the Student Athlete,” orthopedic surgeon Dr. Greg Motley and physical medicine & rehabilitation specialist Dr. Andrew Rudins will present on issues that affect the student athlete, including injuries and concussions. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation, and refreshments will be available. The symposium will take place at The Health Adventure, just off I-26 at Exit 33.

Space is limited for this free event, so pre-registration is required by calling 855.PRH.LIFE (855.774.5433).

High school athletes account for an estimated 2 million injuries and 30,000 hospitalizations in the U.S. each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control. In fact, children ages 5 to 14 account for nearly 40 percent of all sports-related injuries treated in hospitals.
