Tea Party to Host Aug. 13 Oath Keepers Forum
Here's the press release from the Asheville Tea Party:

Tea Party to Host Oath Keepers Forum and Sheriffs and Chief of Police in Henderson and Buncombe on August 13th at Lone Star Steakhouse in Arden

Asheville Tea Party invited Buncombe Sheriff Van Duncan, Henderson Sheriff Charles McDonald, Hendersonville Police Chief Herbert Blake to an Oath Keepers forum by presented by Oath Keepers, Vic Behoriam and Barry Kinchen. The forum will be held during the weekly Asheville Tea Party Tea Time Meeting at the Lone Star Steakhouse, 6 p.m., 341 Rockwood Road, Arden, NC 28704. The public is encouraged to attend.

Victor Behoriam and Barry Kinchen have been Oath Keepers for some time. They believe that we must rely on the US Constitution to resist tyranny.

Oath Keepers is an organization of active duty and retired military, firefighters, police and citizen associate members that swear to honor their Oath to the US Constitution.
From Oath Keepers: “Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of current and formerly serving military, reserves, National Guard, veterans, Peace Officers, and Fire Fighters who will fulfill the Oath we swore, with the support of like minded citizens who take an Oath to stand with us, to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God. Our Oath is to the Constitution
Our motto is "Not on our watch!" http://oathkeepers.org/oath/join/

Mr. Kinchen is a Veteran and comes from a military family. Mr Behoriam, a civilian associate member has sworn his Oath when he was a village official, and again at the Oath Keepers swearing in at the Wall, The Viet Nam Memorial in D.C.
Their presentation will be followed by feedback and comments from our law enforcement community and audience Q & A.

Asheville Tea Party Chair, Jane Bilello commented, “In our time, we are seeing our Constitution shredded and our rights eroded. It is vital now, more than ever, that we have assurances from our law enforcement community that they have a deep and abiding understanding and respect for our U.S. Constitution and our inalienable rights. We welcome feedback from our law enforcement community on this program.”

“Sheriff Mack’s latest book covers decades of research to prove once and for all that the sheriffs in this country are indeed the ultimate law authority in their respective jurisdictions. The sheriff absolutely has the power and responsibility to defend his citizens against all enemies, including those from our own Federal Government.”

How creepy is THAT!?!

The far right wing nut Tea Party is hosting a militarization of our police & military rally?  All the ideologic and legal lock-and-loaded-to-the-teeth crowd is all going to conjugate at Texas Road House on Hendersonville Road?

They’re gonna swear oaths.

But it’s not partisan.  It’s only the Asheville Tea Party.

Yeah, and it’s just a coincidence that the “Oath Keepers” were founded to head off this new threat to the Constitution two months after the first Black President was sworn in.

“We say if the American people decide it’s time for a revolution, we’ll fight with you.”
Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes.

Obama has continued, without significant deviation: the Bush war plans in Iraq and Afghanistan; Guantanamo & illegal surveillance and even extra-judicial killing of American citizens; too-big-to-fail treatment for banksters; “Clean Coal”, nuclear power, fracking and offshore oil drilling; and killed any chances for single-payer or public-option healthcare, instead pushing through a 1990’s Republican-crafted healthcare scheme. He’s Bush Lite.

These are the same trends and policies we saw for eight years under GW Bush. But March 2009, suddenly there was a threat to the Constitution that warranted getting every sworn police officer and military person to grab their weapons. Nothing had really changed but the color of the face in the Oval Office.

“My focus is on the guys with the guns, because they can’t do it without them.”

If the American people re-elect Barack Obama, expect that fact alone to be justification for violent revolution, by some (not all, but some) of the people behind this movement. They are traitors.

And I will be equally IMPRESSED and intend to go myself to see who DOES show up…  This is great news as I thought Oathkeepers might have stalled.
Ask any/all law enforcement and ex military if they support Oathkeepers with their membership?

There’s a comment upstream about OKers having stalled. That’s exactly what has happened and sources who follow them are reporting about how Stewart Rhodes is about ready to give it up.

Some confirmation from tracking of the OKers website: searches and hits have fallen off dramatically in the last three months.
